In recent weeks severe storms have hit the midwest. Oftentimes scam artists will take advantage of storm damage to make a quick buck on the back of the storm victims.

Avoid the Scam

Be leary of companies knocking on doors in your neighborhood after a storm. The most reputable companies will be too busy to be looking for work. To find a company that is insured and bonded contact your insurance company first. Allow your agent to help you walk through the process first.

Check any company you may be using by using the resources of your local Better Business Bureau.
